The Resurrectionist Book Trailer Contest!

Create a trailer for The Resurrectionist. Place it on YouTube and the one that gets the most hits will win a free signed limited hardcover edition of The Resurrectionist from Cargo Cult Press plus a free registration to the KillerCon convention in Las Vegas where you will get to rub elbows with some of the hottest writers in the genre including Brian Lumley, John Skipp and Cody Goodfellow, Tananarive Due, and Sci-Fi Writer Stephen Barnes. All combined it's a $235 prize!

The rules are simple. The trailer must be true to the subject matter.(Making a funny trailer may get you more hits but it will also disqualify you from the contest.) It must list the title and publisher of the book as well as the author's name. (I know that's obvious but common sense is not always common.) You must also send me the link to let me know where to find your trailer so I can monitor its traffic. You can contact me on my blog or on FB or even on Myspace (if you're still into that sort of thing.) The most creative and well-crafted trailer, regardless of hits, will also recieve a prize of one free registration to the KillerCon convention!

Contest ends March 1st!

Two weeks left to register for KillerCon at the discounted rate! Don't miss this exciting writer's convention in Las Vegas, NV with Brian Lumley, Tananarive Due, Sci-fi writer Stephen Barnes and the incomparable team of horror legend John Skipp and Cody Goodfellow. Go to for more information and to register for the event.

Dark Faith

My latest short story, He Who Would Not Bow will be published in the upcoming anthology Dark Faith due out this month. The anthology features stories with a religious or spiritual theme, stories of belief and non-belief. My story is about the biblical god coming to earth in the flesh, taking over as supreme ruler of the planet, and an underground resistance movement determined to reclaim their freedom. You can go to to pre-order a copy.

Distribution of Horror

It seems that Leisure has been having a hard time getting the local bookstores to carry some of my titles. If you haven't already, please go down to your local Barnes and Nobles, Borders, or even your nearby independent bookstore and demand that they stock The Resurrectionist. If they say they have run out of copies then ask them to reorder. Keep horror alive!

Well, it is yet another new year and I have a shit ton of goals to meet, Big Hairy Audacious Goals. First thing is to finish my novella, Amber Alert, which I should have finished two or three weeks ago. Then I have my new novel Miles of Hell to start and complete. Then there's my next collaboration with Maurice Broaddus, a novel about what happens when God comes to earth as a living being in modern America and all the chaos it would cause, which I will likely begin this month and a collaboration with Brian Keene that I will hopefully begin next month or sometime in March and then there's a YA novel (The working title is Wolf Mountain) that I'd like to get written this year. In addition to that I have at least three short stories to write, a convention to run, and I am starting a new job. Yup, busy days ahead.
